Frequently Asked Questions:

How do I save documents to my OneDrive from Word, PowerPoint, etc?

After creating a document in any Microsoft product, you will go to "file" and then "save as" to name and choose a location for saving.  From there, you will see an option to save your document in your Howe ISD OneDrive account right on the save screen:

How can I "back up" all of my documents to OneDrive to ensure I have them from year to year?

The easiest, and best, way to back up all of your documents is to set up an automatic back up process for everything you create throughout the year.  You can do this by:

1.  Right click on the blue cloud symbol in the bottom right corner of your computer screen:

2.  Then choose "Settings"

3.  Then click on the "backup" tab and "start backup" to automatically save anything that is on your desktop, My documents or pictures folder:

4.  Then click "Got it" or "Start backup" to begin the process.  This is a worry free way to ensure that all of your documents are backed up and available to look at even if you are at home.

What happens if my OneDrive stops working?

1.  First, check to make sure that all of your documents are syncing correctly.  You will need to right click on the blue cloud symbol on the bottom left corner of your computer and look at the list of documents that are syncing.  If there is an issue, it will say "there was a problem with this document."  You can fix the document and try syncing again.

2.  Periodically the OneDrive client will stop working.  You will need to "restart" the OneDrive program by typing OneDrive in the "Type here to search" box in the bottom left corner of your computer screen.  Then click the "OneDrive" app that appears at the top of the list to restart the program.  If that doesn't work, please restart your computer!
