Good Afternoon,
Happy Tuesday!
Here are your tech tips for the week 🙂
Apple Classroom Tips
In Apple Classroom, you can launch and lock an app by using Apple Classroom. This is a wonderful feature for the littles and kiddos who need some extra "guidance" in getting where they need to be 😉Â
Pro tip:Â Make sure that the app you are wanting to launch for the student is already installed on their iPad (if not, they can find it in their Manager app).
The best part about this feature- when students are "locked in" they can't go to YouTube, games, other websites, etc. until you "unlock" them!
Where did the GIFs Go?
If you love using GIFs in your emails, you have probably noticed that the GIF option has disappeared from the Emoji smiley face option down below. You will now need to add that ability back with an Outlook add-on. Here is how to install GIFs to your toolbar:
Click on the 3 horizontal dots on your Outlook toolbar when you compose a message:
Then click "Get add-ins":
Search for "GIF" in the toolbar and click on "add" under the GIPHY add-in:
Now click on the GIPHY symbol on the toolbar to search and add GIFs to your emails!
Just a note- when adding GIFs from the toolbar, you are going to notice a caption appear underneath your image. You can erase that caption!
Reply vs. Reply All Reminder
If you are using Microsoft Outlook on the web, the default option to replying to email is "Reply All." You can change this in your Outlook settings! Click on the "settings" button
and then "view all outlook settings":
Then click "Mail", "compose and reply" and then choose "reply in the list of options. Make sure to click "Save" at the bottom!
Email symbols:Â
Just a friendly reminder one arrow means you are replying to just the one person, while the two arrows are replying to everyone included on the message!
Here is one more tip (that I use all the time!): In the "To" field of an email, type in your own email address. Then type in any recipients
in the "BCC" field of an email. That way the only person that shows up is you! If a person does reply all by accident, it will only go to you and not the entire campus/district.
Have a great week!
