mmersive reader is now available in Canvas!

Microsoft's immersive reader is working with Canvas to provide supports for our students who need things read aloud or translated into a different language.  As of right now, immersive reader is only available on Canvas Pages.

What does this mean?

Everything you type on a Canvas Page will have an Immersive Reader button at the top.  When a student clicks on that, they will get the entire text box read to them!  The students can even translate it into Spanish, change the color of the font to make it easier to read, etc.

How does it work?

As the teacher, you can create your lesson or directions in Canvas Pages.  You can include a written lesson, video lessons, text directions, etc.  Then the student will go to that page, and see a button that says "Immersive Reader" like this on their iPad:

When the student clicks on "Immersive Reader" it will open up in a new browser tab like this (the tools on the right side can change the size, color translation, etc.):
