Good Morning,

Happy Tuesday 🙂 Here are your Tech Tips for the Week!

Outlook Email Organization

Let's talk about how to better organize our email in Outlook.  Do you hate having more than one inbox in Outlook (Focused and Other)?  Combine them into one by following these steps:

Click on the settings wheel at the top of the screen and then click on "View all Outlook settings":

Then click on mail, layout and then choose to sort messages into two inboxes or just leave it as one:

Turn off Email "Stacks"

Outlook automatically groups emails in conversation "stacks."  This groups the original email and any replies in one email.  It might be difficult to find emails this way!  You can avoid Outlook "stacking" your emails into a conversation and just showing them as individual messages by going to the settings wheel, click on mail, then layout, and then choosing to keep them as individual messages (make sure to click save!):

"New" Quizzes in Canvas

Canvas has a new feature in quizzes- called New Quizzes (yes, it is really called that!).  So, you might be asking- what is the difference between new quizzes and classic quizzes (the quiz maker you have been using)?

Canvas has some great guides on how new quizzes compare with classic quizzes here:  https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/New-Quizzes-Users/FAQ-New-Quizzes/ta-p/243540#toc-hId-839022910

And a comparison chart of the features within classic quizzes and new quizzes here:  https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/New-Quizzes-Users/New-Quizzes-Feature-Comparison/ta-p/243761

If using New Quizzes sounds like something you want to try, you can choose that option from the "+Quiz" button.  It will ask you to either choose "Classic Quizzes" or "New Quizzes."  You can go back and forth depending on what kind of quiz you want to create.

Just a note about New Quizzes- this is still in beta which means that some features might not work perfectly.  They are still working on fixing all the issues! New Quizzes will be the ONLY quiz maker for Canvas in the Fall of 2021.

I hope that you all have a great week- please make sure to reach out to our department with any questions or training requests!

Thanks,
