Good Morning,

Hope you are having a wonderful Tuesday!  Here are your tech tips for the week 🙂

Restarting your Computer 🖥️🖱️💻⌨️

Logging off your computer at the end of everyday has become something you no longer have to think about, but when is the last time you restarted your computer?  Restarting your computer is something that you should get in the habit of doing every single day when you leave.  Here is why it is so important to restart DAILY:

  • Restarting downloads the necessary updates to your computer each day
  • It will trigger a password expiration notice (Have you ever tried to print or log into Eduphoria, but can't?  That is most likely due to your password being expired)
  • It will log out any other user that is signed into your computer
Restarting is easy!  Simply press the Windows symbol in the bottom left corner of your screen, click on the power button and then "restart":

Hyperdocs 🤓

Why are these all the rage in education right now?  In a remote/asynchronous/in-person/revolving door world, this is the perfect tool to help guide your instruction without having to direct teach the entire class period.  It's no secret that students, in ALL grade levels, need to hear instructions more than once.  By creating a hyperdoc, you are able to give those instructions and have students complete an assignment all in the same page.

So what is it?

HyperDocs, a transformative, interactive document replaces the worksheet method of delivering instruction and is the ultimate change agent in the blended learning classroom. With strong educational philosophies built into each one, HyperDocs have the potential to shift the way you instruct with technology. They are created by teachers and given to students to engage, educate, and inspire learning. It’s not about teaching technology, it’s about using the technology to TEACH.

Most of the examples of HyperDocs you are going to find online are used with Google Docs.  However, this is easily reproduced with Microsoft Word!  Simply click on any template you find in Google and then go to "File" and then "Download As" and choose Microsoft Word.

And here are some amazing templates for you to add your content to (Please remember to save a copy of these templates first before editing):
